Journey

Leave from China Camp, on the western side of the Bay, ride the San Pablo Strait to Raccoon Strait past the mouth of Richardson Bay to arrive at Fort Baker, just inside the Golden Gate,  a distance of approximately 14.6 nautical miles with an estimated travel time of 8 hours.

Due to mud flats at China Camp, recommended launch is at +1 foot tide or above at 11:30 a.m.

Due to southerly journey route, best to ride the ebb tide, which runs from approximately midnight-8 a.m. (3.7 knots) and 2-8 p.m. (276 knots).
